Madi Simmons, from Nevertire, teaches classical hatha yoga.
This style of yoga can be practiced by anyone, at any level of fitness.
Madi teaches in a simple, straight forward manner, with attention to alignment and safety.
With focus on the breath, asana practice becomes a flowing meditation, uniting body, mind and spirit.
Much is lauded these days about the benefits of yoga, the physical aspects being only the beginning.
Madi firmly believes that yoga is for everybody – any age, body type or level of fitness.
“Asana, the physical practice, can be modified to meet each student at their own level, and then built onto from there,” she said.
“But, asana is only the beginning! The teachings also include proper breathing (Pranayama), Meditation, Relaxation, and Lifestyle.”
Madi is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance, the peak international yoga body.
She is passionate about sharing the practice, as well as the joy and wisdom of yoga with people of all ages, all abilities and from all walks of life.
Madi has led popular retreats in Fiji and Bali, with students coming from all over the world.
She has taught students aged between two and eighty two, and believes that we are all students and all teachers.
“The Retreats are a truly special time, shared with like minded people, in simple but stunning locations.
“I have always been blessed with wonderful students. We support each other and some of us have become close friends - I have some students who have done the retreat six years in a row, and it is something we look forward to all year!” she said.
Madi is offering Yoga Teacher Training in Dubbo.
“You do not need tons of experience, or to be a bendy as a pipe cleaner to train. You also do not need to be a top scholar, adept in sanskrit,” Madi said.
“You do need to have a sincere desire to improve your lifestyle and an openness to the teachings of yoga.”
Madi invites you to join her on a journey that will change your life!
The training is an investment in your health, well being and peace of mind.
You will learn to teach from your heart, deepen your personal practice and discover the joy of sharing your love of yoga with others.
Madi teaches straight forward, common sense and medically sound yoga.
There is no “watering down” of any of the yogic teachings!
This course delivers the authentic eightfold path of Patanjali, integrating it with today’s lifestyle.
The course will offered over eight weekend workshops in Dubbo, and conclude with a week long Retreat in Savusavu, Fiji.
“We will finish on a high! During the Retreat we will continue our studies, but also enjoy time for Fijian culture and enjoy the beauty of the islands,” enthuses Madi.
“Students will graduate with an accredited 200 hour Certificate and be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance.”
“It has become my dream to see yoga being practiced in every community throughout the Central West.
“Everyone can benefit from yoga – physically, mentally and emotionally. Even the smallest amount of daily practice can bring about wonderful change.”
